New Driving Assessors in Tasmania
The Tasmanian Government has appointed Tejana Smith from Ls2Ps Driving School in Hobart as the first private driving assessor and professional driving instructor in Tasmania.
This means that you can now do your lessons and also sit your P1 driving assessment with the same driving school. This initiative is aimed at reducing waiting times and streamline the process of getting a driver’s licence in Tasmania.
”By opening up assessment rights to a driving school like Ls2Ps driving alongside existing government assessors, we can provide more convenient appointment times, including outside normal business hours or on weekends. This is another way the Government is making it most accessible for young people to get their licence.” said a Government spokesperson.
As one of Hobart’s leading driving schools, Tejana Smith was the first instructor and assessor to be appointed by the Tasmanian Government under this new scheme. Her hard work and passion for teaching Tasmanians to drive safely has been rewarded with so many bookings that she’s put on new staff to handle the influx of eager customers.
We had the pleasure of working with Rys Woolley in this new program who was the first novice drive to get his licence under this new scheme.

”Ls2ps Driving was the first private business to conduct P1 assessments. I was the first applicant to go for my test under the pilot program. I felt a bit of pressure with the media release but luckily I passed first attempt!
